‘Diva Cabaret’ pays tribute to Sparrow
The all-female calypso tent. Dives Cabaret international opened at the Mas Camp Pub, Woodbrook on Tuesday night to a very receptive audience.
The Cabaret is in honour of the 50thanniversary of “Jean and Dinah” and a tribute to the Mighty Sparrow.
The Cabaret features singers Abbi Blackman, Karen Eccles, Stacy Sobers, Sista Ava, Sweet Jean, AngelaRamouts, Wen-D. Leura, Shernia, Dalia, Kimtys Hamngtoa, Augusta and Shelley Ann Winters as well as The NorthWest Laventille Folk Performers.
MC duties are done by Naomi and music ts supported by Estranda Dynamic 7, a band which consists of three female players.
The Cabaret will run at the Mas Campon Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays while there will be some out of camp stops.
